Brief History

De Ocampo Memorial College, Inc. began in 1913 as the Philippine Dental College, the first dental school in the country recognized by the government. It conferred the Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree in 1916 and the Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) in 1932. Under the leadership of Dr. Gervacio De Ocampo and later his son, Dr. Vicente de Ocampo Sr., the college expanded, adding new programs such as Nursing, Liberal Arts, Optometry, and others.

In the 1950s, a Graduate Nursing Program was introduced, later evolving into the current four-year BSN degree. Dr. Vicente R. Ocampo Sr. passed away in 1966, and his son, Dr. Antonio B. De Ocampo, took over, further expanding the school’s offerings, including Medical Technology and a general Bachelor of Arts Program. The school became De Ocampo Memorial College in the 1980s, offering additional courses such as Midwifery, Hotel and Restaurant Management, and Dental Hygiene.

Under Dr. Antonio De Ocampo’s leadership, the school continued to grow, and after his death in 2004, his children, Dr. Vicente Antonio De Ocampo and Dr. Maria Victoria De Ocampo-Lantin, took over management. The college has since introduced more programs to meet modern demands, such as Psychology, Secondary Education, and TESDA-accredited Dental Laboratory Technology.

Estabilished in 1910, De Ocampo Memorial College, Inc. still remains to this day committed to offering quality, affordable education. Now in its fourth generation of family leadership, the college continues to evolve, producing board topnotchers and improving its facilities, including the De Ocampo Medical Center, which serves as a practical training ground for students in healthcare-related programs.
